Through the practice of yoga, this retreat will guide you through the process of letting-go: setting down your burdens and giving you space to remember yourself, to reflect and to reconnect. Standing at the crossroads and choose the next path knowing that we cannot turn back, standing still and starting all over again. Our direction changes with our experience and motivation, we travel through transition after transition coaxing ourselves to let go of old goals or companions. Attracting large groups in summer months yet none in Winter months can mean that small businesses are unable to survive the whole year. Large groups of tourists visiting one place can put unsustainable pressure on the community's resources and infrastructure. We always ensure that local communities will remain balanced when planning our adventures. We’re proud to support local people, keeping local talent and communities we visit thriving for years to come. Ensuring our employees and partners receive a fair wage means that they can continue to afford housing in their local community. This forces locals to move away from their community, leading to local customs disappearing and leaving towns empty when those staying in the holiday cottages return to their own homes. A big concern with coastal communities in Wales is that homes may be sold as holiday cottages, which consequently increases property prices and leaves housing unaffordable to local youths ready to move out of their family homes. While it is often challenging to find employment in rural areas, we make sure to work with local guides to lead your surf lessons, beach clean and yoga sessions so that opportunities for guiding jobs such as these are available to locals. We work solely with local independent partners who share our passion for supporting their local community. We’re passionate about supporting the local community, it’s something we place at the heart of everything we do. Guests are able to pay their newfound appreciation of the beach forward as they learn all about the local wildlife that inhabits them. In partnership with this business, our Surf and Yoga Retreat offers travellers the opportunity to play their part in the conservation of the coast with an optional beach clean. In their local community, they also started a local clothes swap that saves waste going to landfill and supports local charities. With the aim to help reconnect people with their environment, they not only support early stage environmental entrepreneurs but are on their way to eliminating scope 1 emissions from their business. On the Surf and Yoga Retreat, we work with a local activity provider who incorporate sustainability and environmental best practices into their day to day. For all of our adventures, we make sure that we work only with local, independent partners who share our passion to have only a positive impact on the communities and environment we operate within.
